OCGP Weather Station Details to Know
The current OCGP Weather web page is based on data from a Tempest weather station located several hundred feet south of the main hangar. The OCGP Weather web page and this web page have live content. Refreshing/reloading the OCGP Weather webpage and this webpage is not necessary to get updated images or data.
Update intervals:

The imported web page for the Tempest weather station (below the buttons) generally updates no more often than every 2 minutes, the wind parameters update more often. There is more detailed information and recent history graphs accessible by clicking on the top part of the imported page. The weather forecasts are customized to OCGP using OCGP's station data and other Tempest weather stations in the area. Click on the daily forecast to access an hourly forecast.
OCGP Weather Station Data
The OCGP Tempest weather station data is sent to the Tempest "cloud" (along with all other Tempest weather stations) for analysis and generation of web pages for each station. Additionally, the OCGP Tempest weather station data is available on the network at OCGP. The (old) weather computer in the office collects this data, does a bit of its own processing and sends the data to soarcsa.org server. This data is shown below. If the imported web page from the Tempest "cloud" is not available, this is a simple backup which updates about every 4 min. There is also a little bit of lag in the data because it is sent from the gliderport to soarcsa.org.

The follow are calculated from the Tempest weather station data using FAA formulas. This includes using a standard sea level pressure of 29.92 inHg and temperature of 59°F. The Owl Canonyon Gliderport field elevation used in the calculations, Waiting, is from the Cheyenne sectional chart.
